What is the youngest age and size allowed to drive the karts?
You need to be 15(fifteen) years old, and 48 inches in height (4ft) to drive the karts by yourself. Unless you have taken and passed our Driving School (age 8 -> 14). Driving at Sykart also depends on each child's ability and coordination, which will be judged on an individual basis during this school. This is because the karts are high performance and the course is quite challenging. It is also because many other drivers are very good and the speed they navigate the course would be too great of a difference from that of the smaller children. Less powerful karts are also available for the younger drivers. There's no maximum age limit, driving while pregnant or drunk is prohibited.

What's the track like?
It's about 1/4 mile, the longest indoor track in the Northwest, with lots of interesting curves, hairpins, straight-aways and other features. The track surface is maintained for the greatest possible driving experience. The track sides are buffered to prevent accidents and provide a safe barrier. The course has several computer sensors to track the individual kart speeds, laps and averages.

What kind of go-karts do you have?
They're imported from Belgium, and are high-tech machines, powered by 5.5 hp and 9.0 hp 4-stroke Honda JB gasoline engines, that can reach speeds of 35+ MPH on the straight-aways. 4.0 hp karts are available for children. The karts are maintained on a daily schedule with our own in-house mechanics.

What does the SyKart computer keep track of?
All your lap times as well as the lap times of everyone else in your race. Including average lap time, and best lap times for your race, as well as the best times for the day, track records, etc. Everyone gets a post-race printout of their race results that they can keep for reference and comparison.

Is it hard to learn how to drive the karts?
No, its easy. There are no gears, only a gas and brake pedal, plus, we give each first-time driver a complete pre-race briefing. But driving the track to record fast lap times requires considerable skill, energy and practice. We also have lower performance karts for kids who need a less powerful machine to drive.

How much does it cost and for how long?
It is currently $14.71+tax per race, including tax. Each race is about 10 (ten) minutes, so you can do as many laps as you can do, in the 10 minute race period. It is a surprisingly good "work out" with the powerful high-tech karts.
